Baška Voda
The Late Baroque Church of St. Lovro (Laurence) (1750). The saint’s feast-day is celebrated on 10 August.
The Church of St. Nikola (Nicholas) (1899), in the Neo-Romantic style, with stained-glass windows by Josip Botteri Dini, painted Stations of the Cross by Josip Bifel, the bell-tower and rectory, which contains a valuable collection of ethnographic and ecclesiastical items.

St. Petar’s (Peter’s) Peninsula – a park in the southern part of the town, featuring the remains of an ancient church and caves, and beautiful, long paths which connect places along the Makarska Riviera
“Makarska Summer” - unites many events, such as the “Summer Carnival”, “Kalelarga Night” and performances by well-known singers, klapa singing groups and folklore groups from Croatia and abroad, along with concerts of popular and classical music.
In summer, every other Friday evening is a “Fishermen’s Night”, when fish are grilled in the open air, wine is served and traditional games like donkey races are held, along with fireworks.
Split
An ancient Roman city, which developed around Diocletian’s Palace, built by the Emperor Diocletian 1700 years ago. Today the palace cellars form the scene for “Diocletian Evenings”, and festivals, concerts and other events are held within the centuries-old walls.
The Cathedral of St. Duje (Domnius), built on the mausoleum of the Emperor Diocletian.
At the entrance to the Cathedral is an Egyptian sphinx from the second century BC. Another is to be found next to the Church of St. John – Jupiter’s Temple.
